Clinical Focus: Signs You Might Have Leaky Gut And How To HEAL It

Do you suffer from:

Bloating
Food sensitivities or intolerances
Thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto’s, Graves
Fatigue
Joint pain such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis

Well you may be surprised that all of the above conditions (and many more) have been linked to ‘leaky gut’ or intestinal permeability. But just how can your joint pain be linked to your gut? And just how do you know if leaky gut is causing your problems?

Well, our guts are designed to have microscopic holes in them, so that only specific tiny particles can pass through.

Factors such as

  • regular gluten consumption,
  • excess sugar and alcohol consumption,
  • chronic stress,
  • an overgrowth of bad bacteria
  • exposure to toxins

can all affect these microscopic holes such so that they grow larger and start to allow food particles such as proteins and fat through into the bloodstream, causing an allergic response which can be seen in the body as headaches, joint pain, skin issues, arthritis, anxiety, the list goes on.

So just how do you HEAL a Leaky Gut?

  1. ELIMINATE problematic foods (e.g. gluten, refined sugar) and other factors (e.g. stress)
  2. SUBSTITUTE with healing foods such as broth, fermented foods
  3. REHABILITATE the gut with focussed supplements such as glutamine, turmeric
  4. HEAL the gut with specialised, high strength probiotics
